about

I studied Photography at F.S.U. in Florida and G.C.D. in Dublin. I am a licentiate member of the Irish Professional Photographers Association (I.P.P.A.), the R.P.S. the S.W.P.P. and a member of the artistic Guild of Wedding Photojournalists. At college my field of chosen study was documentary photography which lends itself perfectly to wedding photography. I am also interested in lens based art, abstract and creative photography. I am from Enfield, County Meath and based in Kilcock, County Kildare.

At weddings you are surrounded by people, friends and families at the happiest times of their lives and as the wedding photographer you get to play a part in that day. You are responsible not for creating memories but preserving them. In the future when the couple look back at their album and it brings it all back, they smile and laugh at those cherished memories. There is a great satisfaction in that! Weddings by their nature are spontaneous and emotional, exciting and fun! What I try to do is anticipate and capture 'those special moments' and each time I do, each time I nail it - it's exciting!

I tend to focus on people and moments. I am always looking to capture images in a memorable way, an artistic way if you will. I love showing viewpoints which enhance the message the image is trying to convey. At weddings for the most part I try to make myself as unobtrusive as possible. I approach every wedding the same way - I try to blend in and let the day flow. Anticipating and watching for the right moment, being in the right place at the right time.... With a camera of course :) I would see myself as a documentary wedding photographer with an artistic streak, in that my objective is to capture memorable images in order to tell a story, your story.
